Yahweh the Almighty God says:

“At the acceptable time I heard you,

and in the Day of Salvation

I helped you.'   Look! I tell you,

now is `the well-accepted time';

now is `The Day of Salvation'."

2 Corinthians 6:2

The Saviour, Y’shua, Jesus, says:  I am the door;

whoever enters through Me will be saved.”  (John 10:9)

was indeed a crucial and traumatic year. It was, as the Queen would say, in Latin, an Annus horribilis - “a horrible year” – a year in which ISIS went viral and swept across swathes of Syria and Iraq, slaughtering tens and thousands. It was a year that witnessed wars in Gaza and Ukraine, and many awful tragedies elsewhere, as well as terrorist pogroms, widespread moral and social deterioration and persecution. It ended with an economic upheaval due to the oil war that is bringing oil producing nations to despair, and threats of global war.

2015 seems destined to continue the degradation of righteousness and peace in societies around the world. It is as the Messiah said, men will be fainting from fear because of the things coming upon the world. (Luke 21:26)

In the midst of all the turmoil, however, there is good news for our generation that is destined for the Great Tribulation. The good news is that Y’shua, Jesus, is still willing to save anyone and everyone who will call to Him, believing that He is indeed the Saviour of sinners - the Saviour of hopeless and despairing souls; of people who have made an utter mess of their lives. He’s available to all, and He stoops to hear the groans of the depressed.

Referring to Himself by the title, “The Son of Man,” Jesus the Messiah said:

“The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve,

and to give His life a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:28)

Yes, He was crucified on the cross to pay the penalty of the sins of the world,

so that we might be saved from the penalty of our sins.

“Therefore He is also able to save completely and forever those who come to God

through Him, since He always lives to intercede for them.” (Hebrew 7:25)

My dear reader, if you have not yet received  Him as your Saviour, I urge you to pray right now, talk to Him wherever you are, and express your faith in Him. And here is a good verse to start your prayer.

Just as I am, without one plea,

But that Your blood was shed for me,

And that You bid me come to You.

O Lamb of God, I come. I come.

FOLLOWING is an overview of some of the major conditions in the world at the end of 2014.

We understand from the prophecy in Ezekiel 38 & 39, and Daniel 11:40, that Rosh (Russia) will lead a very powerful alliance of nations in the endtimes, in a massive invasion of Israel that will bring it into conflict with the Roman empire of Antichrist. The World War that follows will bring about the destruction of Russia and its allies, but also the destruction of a quarter of the world. (Revelation 6:8).

The 8th largest economy on the entire planet is in a state of turmoil right now. The shocking collapse of the price of oil has hit many countries really hard, but very few nations are as dependent on energy production as Russia.

Sales of oil and natural gas account for approximately two-thirds of all Russian exports and approximately 45% of all government revenue. So it should be no surprise that the price of oil, declining by almost 50% since June, is absolutely catastrophic for the Russian economy.  Interest rates in December were raised from 10.5%  to 17%.

And when you throw in international sanctions, wild money printing by the Central Bank of Russia, and unprecedented capital flight, you get the ingredients for an almost perfect storm.

But those living in the western world should not be too smug about what is happening in Russia, because the nightmare that is unfolding over there is just a preview of the economic chaos that will soon envelop the whole world.

The price of crude is proving to be a curse for the Kremlin. The precipitous drop in oil prices recently, has left Vladimir Putin’s Russia on the edge of economic ruin.

In a surprise announcement, the Russian central bank said it would raise its key interest rate to 17%.  The move is aimed at shoring up the tumbling currency as the Russian economy feels the pain of a low oil price - oil and gas are Russia's main exports - combined with US and EU sanctions over Russian involvement in the Ukrainian war.

It is the highest interest rate increase since 1998, when the Russian currency collapsed and the government defaulted on its debt, sending ripples throughout financial markets around the world.

About half of Russia’s budget revenues come from oil and gas taxes, and a quarter of its GDP is linked to the energy industry. With the oil price falling from $115 US dollars a barrel in June to below $60 now, Russia's economy is feeling the pinch. On top of this comes the closed access to EU and US capital markets as part of the joint sanctions.

With the US and its ally Saudi Arabia determining the oil price, it is likely the squeeze will continue until Russian President Vladimir Putin reverses his course in Ukraine.

So far, he has kept a defiant stance and has offered amnesty to Russians who bring money - no matter how it was earned - back into their country.

DEC 8.  Contrary to what he would like us to believe, things are going very poorly for Vladimir Putin these days. Having found the West more united than he expected on the issue of sanctions against Russia, he now discovers that the bottom has fallen out of the international oil market. As if that were not enough, he also finds Europe hindering his pet Southstream gas pipeline, which is supposed to run under the Black Sea, which he had hoped would increase Russia’s energy stranglehold over Ukraine and the rest of Europe.

A real danger is that a Russian economy in tatters will only increase the incentives for aggressive moves abroad. When cornered, Putin is likely to become even more dangerous.

When he launched his Ukrainian adventure around a year ago, Putin was counting on a divided Europe’s inability to join the US in imposing meaningful economic sanctions as a response.  But Europe joined in strengthening penalties on the Russian energy and financial sectors. This forced Putin to strike a long-term energy supply arrangement with China at prices generally viewed as unfavorable to Russia.

Europe has managed to thwart Russia’s attempts to undermine Ukraine and increase its stranglehold on the European energy market. Effectively blocking the construction of Southstream was an important step in the process. Russia intended to use the pipeline to supply Europe with gas without it having to go through Ukraine — a move that would have drastically increased his ability to squeeze that country without endangering Europe’s energy supply.

The Southstream setback has caused Putin to make another hasty and questionable move: an alternative pipeline deal with Turkey.

In order to seal the deal, Russia had to offer a 6% discount on its gas prices. At the same time, supplying Europe through Turkey rather than through Ukraine will add considerably to Gazprom’s transportation costs and it is still not clear whether Europe will allow that gas to enter Europe through Greece.

In addition, Putin appears to have been caught totally flatfooted by developments in the international oil market. He especially seems to have misjudged the major shifts caused by the US shale oil revolution, along with increased offshore oil and gas production in a variety of other countries, and the slowing in the overall global economy. Those changes have seen benchmark global oil prices decline from $115 per bbl. to around $60 over the past six months.

All this, in turn, has blown a hole in the Russian budget, which depends on oil for around 45% of its tax revenues. Over the past six months, the Russian ruble has also lost around half its value, contributing to an inflation rate now at 9%.

Coupled with sanctions, the dismal oil picture has caused a collapse in investor and household confidence in the economy, and forced Moscow to acknowledge that the country is headed for a recession next year.

A real danger, however, is that a Russian economy in tatters will only increase the incentives for aggressive moves abroad. This is, after all, how Putin’s era got started: with a lethal campaign against Chechnya to consolidate his regime at home.

Among other things, the bad news for Putin could be equally bad news for an early resolution of the Ukraine crisis. Worse yet, as Senator John McCain has recently warned, it could spell trouble for countries like Moldova and the Baltic states, which Russia has long considered to be part of its “near abroad.”

It could also be the prelude for Russia using its energy leverage over countries even further afield, such as Bulgaria, Finland and Slovakia. Like the Baltics, all are totally dependent on Russia for their natural gas supplies.

Thwarting a bear does not turn the beast into a lamb. It mostly creates an angrier and more unpredictable bear.                     -    By Desmond Lachman

DEC 19. President Vladimir Putin has tried to quell fears of economic collapse and has vowed rapid recovery from the worst financial crisis of his rule. He said that the economic downturn will last two years at most and promised  to support the poorest section of the population.

However, he indicated that the economic gloom has not swayed his stance on Ukraine, accusing the West of behaving like an “empire” and comparing Russia to a bear who is under attack and fighting for survival.

Mr Putin admitted that Western sanctions over Moscow’s involvement in the conflict in Ukraine — where 4,700 people have died in fighting between Kiev’s forces and pro-Moscow separatists — contributed about “30%” to the current economic situation. But he made clear that his position on Ukraine has not changed, branding Kiev’s military campaign against Russian-backed rebels in the east a “punitive operation.”

The rift between the US and Russia continues as the Pentagon threatens Russia with releasing nuclear missiles in lieu of the Moscow's violation.

According to the US, the country is prepared to redeploy nuclear weapons as a means to keep Russia at bay following its breach of two arms control treaties. Meanwhile, the US Congress has been working on new sanctions for Vladimir Putin following decisions over Ukraine tension.

Russia has responded angrily to news that US senators had passed a bill calling for fresh sanctions against Moscow, and the supply of lethal military aid to Ukraine.  "Undoubtedly, we will not be able to leave this without a response," deputy foreign minister Sergei Ryabkov said ahead of a meeting between the Russian and US foreign ministers.

The Senate bill -- dubbed the Ukraine Freedom Support Act -- must still be approved by the White House, which has so far been reluctant to provide direct military assistance to Ukraine for fear of being drawn into a proxy war with Russia.

Outspoken Republican, Ron Paul, declared:  “Today the US House passed what I consider to be one of the worst pieces of legislation ever. The bill was 16 pages of war propaganda. I can hardly believe they are getting away with it again, and this time with even higher stakes: provoking a war with Russia that could result in total destruction!

“The resolution directly involves the US government in the conflict by calling on the US president to “provide the government of Ukraine with lethal and non-lethal defence articles, services, and training required to effectively defend its territory and sovereignty.” This means US weapons in the hands of US-trained military forces engaged in a hot war on the border with Russia. Does that sound at all like a good idea?”

“There are too many more ridiculous and horrific statements in this legislation to completely discuss. Probably the single most troubling part of this resolution, however, is the statement that “military intervention” by the Russian Federation in Ukraine “poses a threat to inter-national peace and security.”

“Such terminology is not an accident: this phrase is the poison pill planted in this legislation from which future, more aggressive resolutions will follow. After all, if we accept that Russia is posing a ‘threat’ to international peace, how can such a thing be ignored? These are the slippery slopes that lead to war.”

DEC 21.  Russia is preparing a contingency plan to prompt Hizb’allah and possibly the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, into a direct military conflict with Israel, according to a French official who has been apprised of the situation.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the contingency was meant to be used as a card against the West, particularly the US and European Union, which has been engaged in efforts to isolate Moscow.

This past week, the US and EU adapted tighter sanctions on the Russian economy, including restrictions on investments in the Crimea, with emphasis on Russian Black Sea oil and gas exploration and tourism.

The official said there is information in recent weeks, that Russia successfully shipped to Hizb’allah a large convoy of Iskandar ballistic missiles and surface-to-air missiles. The missiles were received, despite Israel’s alleged airstrikes in Syria targeting Russian-shipped weapons earlier this month.

The official said Russia has not made any decision about agitating a Hizb’allah attack on Israel, but views a possible conflict in the Mideast as a card it can play in its confrontation with the West, particularly in Ukraine.

Earlier this month, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moualem travelled to Russia to meet with the country’s president, Vladimir Putin, and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at Russia’s Black Sea resort of Sochi.

WND reported at the time that according to a source in Assad’s regime, Putin and Lavrov assured Moualem that Russia “won’t stand for” any Western attack on Assad, and that the Russians pledged “support” and “protection” to the Assad regime.

That pledge came amid pressure from Turkey and Saudi Arabia on the Obama administration to expand the fight against ISIS in Syria to also target Assad’s forces.

DEC 7.  Russian President Vladimir Putin has clinched a ground-breaking deal with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan that will strengthen economic ties between the two nations and make Turkey the major hub for Russian gas in the region.

Under the terms of the agreement, Russia will pump additional natural gas to locations in central Turkey and to a “hub at the Turkish-Greek border” which will eventually provide Putin with backdoor access to the lucrative EU market, although Turkey will serve as the critical intermediary.

The move creates a de facto Russo-Turkey alliance that could shift the regional balance of power decisively in Moscow’s favour, thus creating another formidable hurdle for Washington’s “pivot to Asia” strategy.  The reverberations are truly global.

While the media is characterizing the change in plans (Putin has abandoned the Southstream pipeline project that would have transported gas to southern Europe) as a “diplomatic defeat” for Russia, the opposite appears to be the case.  Putin has once again out-maneuvered the US on both the energy and geopolitical fronts adding to his long list of policy triumphs. How can this happen? How can Putin waltz into Ankara, scribble his name on a few sheets of paper, and abscond with a key US ally right under Washington’s nose?  By Mike Whitney Global Research

We have been watching and waiting for Turkey and Russia to come together.  Turkey’s former vision of joining the European Union now seems to be a thing of the past.  Turkey (Beth-Togarmah) is listed with the nations linked to the Rosh confederation of Ezekiel 38.  Nations are falling into place for the prophesied endtime events.

The anti-Israel alliance of Russia, Iran, Assad and Turkey is developing.

Iran, the main ally of the Syrian regime, is trying to bring Turkey into an alliance with Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad, according to leaked documents published in Al-Arab (Arabic link). The Iranians are doing this using a variety of methods, including emphasizing the growing conflict between the American and Turkish governments.

DEBKAfile Special Report.

On Dec 7, Israel’s air force struck the military section of Damascus international airport, wiping out newly-arrived Russian hardware that included missiles that had been dispatched urgently to help Syria and Hizb’allah frustrate a US plan for a no-fly zone over northern Syria.

The advanced weapons were sent after Russian President Vladimir Putin learned that the Obama administration and the Erdogan (Turkish) government were close to a final draft on a joint effort to activate a no-fly zone that would bar Syrian air force traffic over northern Syria.

The Kremlin has repeatedly warned that the establishment of a no-fly or buffer zone in any part of Syria would be treated as direct American intervention in the Syria war and result in Russian military intervention for defending the Assad regime.

According to a US-Turkish draft, American warplanes would be allowed to take off from the Turkish airbase of Incirlik for operations against Syrian warplanes, assault helicopters or drones entering the no-go zone. Thus far, Ankara had only permitted US surveillance aircraft and drones the use of Incirlik for tracking the movements of Islamic State fighters in northern Syria.

The Obama administration was long deterred from implementing the no-fly zone plan by the wish to avoid irritating Moscow, and facing the hazards of Syria’s world-class air defence system. But Washington was recently won over to the plan by a tacit deal with Damascus for American jets to be allowed entry to help Kurdish fighters defend their northern Syrian enclave of Kobani against capture by al Qaida’s IS invaders.

The no-fly zone planned by US strategists would be narrow – up to a kilometre deep inside Syria. However Moscow is standing fast against any such plan and objects to US planes having freedom of Syrian airspace, a freedom they are now afforded over Kobani.

To drive this point home, the Russians delivered the supply of advanced anti-air missiles and radar to Syria which was to be transferred to Hizb’allah in Lebanon. That purpose was thwarted by the Israeli air strikes.

The Assad regime has held back from reacting to past Israeli air raids to prevent advanced weaponry from reaching Hizb’allah. This time, spokesmen in Damascus warned that their government’s response would be clandestine and cause Israel "unimaginable harm."

Israeli air force also struck targets in the Syrian presidents republican guard, and the same division’s logistic rear base at Dimas near the Lebanese border.

Israel’s air strikes in Damascus and on the Syrian-Lebanese border are depicted by Middle East military and intelligence sources as Israels first overt military clash with Russia in the course of the more than three-year Syrian war.

The Israeli air strikes occurred less than 24 hours after Deputy Russian FM, Mikhail Bogdanov, the Kremlin’s lead man for the Syrian war, met with Hizb’allah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut.

Our sources have learned that Moscow has been looking for a reckoning with the US and Israel over the fall in October of the large Russian intelligence post at Tel a-Hara in southern Syria to Syrian rebel units.

The secret site that was located strategically close to the junction of Syria’s borders with Jordan and Israel, was one of the most highly sophisticated Russian intelligence bases outside its borders The captured hi-tech apparatus, much of it unfamiliar to Western spy agencies, was quickly shipped out of Syria for examination in the West.

The fact that Israel conducted air strikes against two facilities of the Syrian army division along the route to Lebanon indicates that the targeted weapons were indeed on their way from Syria to Hizb’allah in Lebanon.

DEC 8.  Russia has demanded that Jerusalem provide explanations following the reports that Israeli jets had carried out multiple airstrikes on two targets in Syria in which two Hizb’allah operatives were killed.

Moscow, considered as a main backer of Syria’s ruling regime, said it had turned to the UN to bring Israel to account for the strikes. “Moscow voices deep concern over the dangerous development of events. Their circumstances should be clarified. In any case it is certain that the use of force is unacceptable in interstate relations and deserves disapproval,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said.  “It is important to prevent additional risks of further destabilization of the extremely tense situation in Syria and in the Middle East region.

The war in Ukraine continues in spite of a Sept 5 ceasefire signed by Ukraine's government, Russia and rebel leaders in eastern Ukraine. A British security official told CNN that the conflict had returned to levels that preceded the ceasefire.

From mid-April to mid December, at least 4,700 people have been killed and 10,322 wounded in the conflict-affected areas of eastern Ukraine." More than 1 million people have been displaced by the fighting.

Reports tell of Russian troops and weapons being deployed in East Ukraine in support of the break-away regions.

As well as living in a dangerous war zone, Christians in Ukraine are facing persecution from pro-Russian separatists who have already captured, tortured, and killed some top church leaders.

Ukraine's evangelical Christians are bearing the brunt of the country's conflict, often with deadly consequences. Many believe the persecution is linked to pressure from the Russian Orthodox Church, and the pro-Russian rebels are only happy to do their bidding

Throughout the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as rebels gain more territory, assaults against evangelicals are growing. Two pastors told CBN News they were arrested and tortured for their faith.

Sergey Demidovich, a top evangelical leader in Slavyansk, said Christians face constant threat. "I never thought in the 21st century, in a free country like Ukraine, it was possible to experience this level of persecution," he said. "The separatists saw Protestant Christians as enemies. They viewed us as cults."

But the persecution was just getting started. "All the Protestant churches in the city were either taken over by rebels or forced to close. We were forbidden to meet for services and the leadership was forced to leave or be under risk of arrest," Demidovich said.  –

As Jews in Ukraine have also been persecuted, Israel’s Interior Ministry has issued an internal directive relaxing rules requiring certain documents from prospective immigrants from Donetsk, Luhansk and other cities occupied by Russian-backed separatists.

Jewish community leaders from eastern Ukraine praised Israel’s decision to ease immigration requirements for refugees fleeing their country’s ongoing civil war, painting the move as a much needed humanitarian gesture.

Jews seeking refuge from Ukraine’s industrial east will be exempted from pre-translating certain documents and will not have to submit documentation attesting to their lack of a criminal record due to the difficulty of obtaining such papers in a war zone.

Jewish Agency officials in Ukraine have noted that the issue of paperwork has been a vexing one for Ukrainian Jews, many of whom do not have passports and have left documents attesting to their Jewish identity at home.

Approximately  50%  of  Donetsk’s  pre-war  Jewish

population of some 11,000 people had fled.  A similar situation is taking place in Luhansk.

The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews is sponsoring a planeload of immigrants to Israel.

DEC 4. Rapidly falling oil prices are triggering a nightmare scenario for the commodity derivatives market.

Derivatives’ contracts protect the profits of oil producers from dramatic swings in the marketplace. These dramatic swings rarely happen, but when they do they can be absolutely crippling.

The oil companies that have locked in high prices for their oil in 2015 and 2016 are feeling pretty good right now. But who is on the other end of those contracts? In many cases, it is the big Wall Street banks who did not anticipate a huge decline in the price of oil in less than six months – from around $115 to $60.

If the price of oil stays at this level or goes down even more, someone is going to have to absorb some absolutely massive losses.

It has been estimated that the six largest “too big to fail” banks control $3.9 trillion in commodity derivatives contracts. And a very large chunk of that amount is made up of oil derivatives.

We are heading for a derivatives crisis unlike anything that we have ever seen. A day of reckoning is rapidly approaching, and it is going to horrify the entire planet.

                                                                                                                   - The Economic Collapse

To many observers, OPEC’s refusal to cut production and thus shore up oil prices was the beginning of a price war with the United States so that Saudi Arabia, the cartel’s most influential member, could regain the market share it had been losing during the recent American oil boom. Now Iran’s president, Hassan Rouhani, is saying that Riyadh, through OPEC, is also using “treachery” to harm the economies of fellow oil-producing Muslim states in the Middle East.

DEC 2. The US national debt has increased by 70% under Obama, from $10.625 trillion on January 21, 2009 to $18.005 trillion most recently.

The US Treasury has been forced to issue $1,040,965,000,000 in new debt since fiscal 2015 started just eight weeks ago, in order to raise the money to pay off Treasury securities that were maturing, and to cover new deficit spending by the government.

During those eight weeks, the US Treasury took in $341 billion in revenues. That was a record for the period between October 1 and November 25. But that record $341 billion in revenues was not enough to finance ongoing government spending let alone pay off old debt that matured.

The Treasury also drew down its cash balance by $45 billion during the period, starting with $126 billion in cash and ending with $81 billion.

The only way the Treasury could handle the $94 billion in old debt that matured during the period, plus finance the new deficit spending the government engaged in, was to roll over the old debt into new debt and issue enough additional new debt to cover the new deficit spending.

“Come now, you rich, weep and wail because of the miseries that are coming upon you.”  (James 5:1)

“Your gold and silver have corroded, and their corrosion will testify against you and will consume your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the Last Days!”  (James 5:3)

DEC 7. The writing is on the wall. If things were all rosy this would not be a thought on anyone's mind. Notice the solution is to use a global body. One World Government?

The UN is set to formally begin negotiations to create a global bankruptcy process after Argentina's long-running case with the so-called "vulture funds" prompted inter-national authorities tocreate a new system.

The international body voted on a resolution to formally begin negotiations to create the global bankruptcy process. In September, the UN General Assembly voted 128 to 16 in favour of a legal bankruptcy framework for countries.

"The UN legal framework could prevent global financial crisis, limit country defaults and stop predatory behaviour," says Jubilee USA.

The committee would be based in New York and the committee is expected to complete its work before September 2015.

The financial crisis in Europe is prompting some nations to repatriate their gold reserves to national vaults. The Netherlands has moved 122 tons — $5 billion worth — of gold from New York, and some are calling for similar action from France, Switzerland, and Germany.

DEC 5. We have lived in a world dominated by the US since at least 1945 and, in many ways, since the late 19th century. And we have lived for 200 years — since the Battle of Waterloo in 1815— in a world dominated by two reasonably democratic, constitutional countries - Great Britain and the USA.

For all their flaws, these two countries have been the vanguard— the leaders—world-wide, in terms of civil liberties, democratic processes and consti-tutional rights.

This latest economic earthquake follows China’s development over the past two years, but the breakthrough to become the top economy came sooner than anyone had predicted.

This is a geopolitical earthquake with a high reading on the Richter scale. Throughout history, political and military powers have always depended on economic power.

Britain was the workshop of the world before she ruled the waves. And it was Britain’s relative economic decline that preceded the collapse of her power. And it was the same story with powers such as France and Spain.

China’s rise will not change anything tomorrow or next week, but it will change almost everything in the longer term Geopolitical change is happening now very fast, and 2015 is going to be quite a ride. – Sources: Various.

DEC 8.   What should we make of the tremendous and rapid military growth of China? What does it mean for the stability of rest of the world, and particularly the United States? Does the Bible have anything to say about China and her role in end-time Bible prophecy?

A resurgence of Russian and Chinese military power over the past two decades has begun to rival US military supremacy. It started with Russia, but China is the country that has more recently reflected a challenge to US economic and military domination.

Last October, the IMF reported that China just surpassed the US as the world’s largest economy. The continued growth of China’s economy fuels its massive military buildup and thirst for expansion to gain additional natural resources, such as island chains and waterways, and especially oil. Some defense analysts project China will match the US in military strength within 20 years.

China is forging greater military ties with Russia and other US adversaries.

China has engaged in cyber warfare against the US in numerous ways in recent years, including through hacking into a defense contractor’s system and stealing the information to make its own aircraft.

The communist nation is aggressively planning, producing, and deploying hypersonic weapons that could overwhelm US missile defence systems, and place US aircraft carriers, land-based targets, and allies, at much greater risk than ever before.

Another Chinese threat that has been reported recently:  According to, China now has the capacity to knock out the entire US power grid.

The director of the National Security Agency, Adm. Michael Rogers, has so warned a congressional panel about the Chinese cyber threat, stating that China and "one or two other nations," after performing constant "reconnaissance" missions on US utility companies, were now in a position to blow out the US power grid.

It would be an act of war that would leave the US powerless to retaliate and, worse still, powerless to identify the perpetrators.

In terms of Bible prophecy, the growth of the Chinese military is part of the process in which China is assuming its position as a key player in the culmination of history. -                                                                                                                                    - Tom Olago / Prophetic News Watch

The latest flight test followed earlier tests of the Wu-14 on Jan. 9 and Aug. 7. The three tests indicate that China’s development of a strike vehicle capable of traveling up to eight times the speed of sound is a high-priority element in China’s large-scale military build-up.

DEC 18. China carried out a long-range missile flight test using multiple, independently targetable re-entry vehicles, or MIRVs, according to US defence officials.

The flight test of the new DF-41 missile, China’s longest-range intercontinental ballistic missile, marks the first test of multiple warhead capabilities for China.

China has been known to be developing multiple-warhead technology, which it obtained from the United States illegally in the 1990's.  However, the December 13, DF-41 flight test, using an unknown number of inert maneuvering warheads, is being viewed by US intelligence agencies as a significant advance for Chinas strategic nuclear forces and part of a build-up that is likely to affect the strategic balance of forces.

China’s nuclear arsenal is estimated to include around 240 very large warheads. That number is expected to increase sharply as the Chinese deploy new multiple-warhead missiles.

“The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the rising of the sun - the East.”  (Revelation 16:12)

In a report released by the US-based Council on Foreign Relations titled Strategic Stability in the Second Nuclear Age, author Gregory Koblentz, an expert on arms control and non-proliferation, identifies South Asia as the region "most at risk of a breakdown in strategic stability due to an explosive mixture of unresolved territorial disputes, cross-border terrorism, and growing nuclear arsenals.

DEC 5. In an interview with CBS News, King Abdullah II said the fight with ISIS is like a “third world war by other means.”

The king who met President Obama at the White House to discuss the fight against ISIS, said that it is “clearly a fight between good and evil.”

He called the threat of the extremist organization, which is rampaging through Iraq and Syria in the hopes of establishing an Islamic caliphate, a “Muslim problem.”

“We need to take ownership of this. We need to stand up and say what is right and what is wrong,” Abdullah said, while clarifying that it was not a reflection of Islam as a religion.

Abdullah said that he told Russian President Vladimir Putin that the fight against ISIS is a “third world war by other means.”

He explained that the short term part of defeating ISIS would be military, the medium term would be security, but the long term aspect “is going to be the ideological one.”

Abdullah said there are a lot of leaders of the Muslim and Arab world who have had enough.

When pressed on why they haven’t been more vocal in expressing this, the King said, “just give us some time.”

DEC 10.  A group of ISIS operations and intelligence officers, led by a senior commander, has arrived in Sinai and taken charge of the local Ansar Beit al-Maqdas jihadis, opening up a dangerous new front against EGYPT and ISRAEL, in proximity to the Suez Canal, the Gaza Strip, and the West Bank.

Their relocation from Iraq to the Egyptian peninsula was carefully arranged. They came posing as tourists coming for a holiday at the Sinai resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, arriving on charter flights from Middle East and European locations on fake passports. This enabled them to evade the strict security checks at Cairo international airport.

By assuming command of the local Ansar Beit al-Maqdas terrorist group, which last month pledged allegiance to the Islamic State, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has moved to add Sinai as a new province to the caliphate he established in parts of Iraq and Syria.

Islamic State tacticians have provided the Sinai outfit with a strategic reserve by sending 300 combatants from Iraq to eastern Libya. This group also supplies the Egyptian contingent with arms.

Egypt therefore finds itself encircled by I S forces on its western border from Libya and deeply threatened from the northeast in Sinai; whereas Israel faces the same jihadi menace in the southwest from Sinai and in the north from Syria.

On arrival in Sinai, Islamic State commanders announced their movement’s mission had been overhauled and re-directed from Egypt to the “Egyptian-Zionist alliance.”

Israel finds itself outflanked by the new I S deployment in Sinai. The IDF has heavily built up its northern strength to meet any Al Qaida menace from Syria to the Golan. And now, while preparing to tackle Islamist encroachment from the north, Israel finds them cropping up along its southern border, where no comparable military build-up is in place.

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi’s Sinai move contradicts the claims of senior US commanders that I S is on the run in Iraq after being badly hurt by US and coalition air strikes. (Last week there were no more than 31 air raids over Iraq and 15 in Syria.)

All that the “light” US-led air campaign has achieved so far is to induce the Islamic State’s leaders to shift ground tactically from territorial expansion to defence and entrenchment.   DEBKAfile

Iraq’s Ministry of Human Rights claims the Islamic State has murdered 150 women simply because they refused to marry or perform sexual acts with the terrorists.

Militants claim they adhere to a very conservative interpretation of Islam, yet they run brothels and keep sex slaves. They even allow women from the West to perform “sexual jihad” for the terrorists.

A 2013 edict allows this behaviour “to boost the morale of fighters.”  Islamic State issued its own edict in June after conquering towns in Iraq. Jihadists set up brothels filled with kidnapped females and placed British (Muslim) women in charge.

One Yazidi sex slave begged the West to bomb the brothel at which she was held to end her suffering. A video in November showed militants laughing and joking about buying female Yazidi slaves.

About 300 Chinese people are fighting alongside the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, a Chinese state-run newspaper said, a rare tally that is likely to fuel worry in China that militants pose a threat to security.

China has expressed concern about the rise of Islamic State in the Middle East, nervous about the effect it could have on its Xinjiang region. But it has also shown no sign of wanting to join US efforts to use military force against the group.

The supposed leader of Islamic State supporters in Israel told Channel 10 News he believed the group would one day rule Israel. He added that Jews would only be allowed to remain under Islamic Caliphate rule if they adhered to the Islamic way of life.

They are using churches as torture chambers to persecute Christians. They are also reportedly exporting and selling Christian artefacts to generate income.

Jay Sekulow, of the American Centre for Law and Justice, says: "ISIS has a stated goal to wipe out Christianity. It is a threat we can't ignore."

The general in command of US forces involved in the fight against Islamic State militants in Iraq and Syria said he thought it would take a minimum of three years to achieve a turning point against the group.

Asked at a Pentagon briefing about progress on the ground, Army Lieutenant General James Terry said that the first US air strikes had taken place only four months ago and counselled patience, estimating it would "at least take a minimum of three years."

An alleged weapons maker for the Islamic State (I S) claimed that a “radioactive device” has been smuggled into an undisclosed location in Europe, according to an intelligence brief released by the SITE Intelligence Group.

“A Radioactive Device has entered somewhere in Europe,” according to Twitter user, Muslim-Al-Britani, who claims to be a freelance jihadist weapons maker now working alongside I S (also known as ISIL or ISIS), according to tweets captured and disseminated by SITE.

DEC 17. The Syrian ‘moderate’ rebel militia Al Yarmouk Shuhada Brigades, backed and trained for two years by US officers, mostly CIA experts, in Jordan, and supported by the Israeli army, has abruptly dumped these sponsors and joined up with the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, Debkafile exclusive military and counter-terrorism sources reveal.

The sudden defection of this 2,000-strong anti-Assad force leaves IDF defence formations on the Golan, US and Jordanian deployments in the northern part of the kingdom, and pro-Western rebel conquests in southern Syria in danger of collapse.

The Brigades' jump into the radical jihadi camp was negotiated in the last two weeks by its commander Mousab Ali Qarfan, who also goes by the name of Mousab Zaytouneh.

He was in direct contact with ISIS chief Abu Baqr Al-Baghdadi, whom our sources report has recently relocated from Iraq to his northern Syrian head-quarters at al-Raqqa.

Unlike the Sinai Islamists, Ansar Beit al Maqdis, the Yarmouk Brigades did not pledge allegiance to ISIS. Their pact was forged as an operational alliance, which is just as grave a peril for the rebel militias' abandoned allies.

For Israel, in particular, the new development is fraught with three dangers:

1. The Yarmouk Brigades are strung out along Israel's Golan border with Syria, from the UN peacekeepers camp opposite Kibbutz Ein Zivan in the north, down to the Israeli-Syrian-Jordanian border junction in the south. The Brigades therefore sit along 45 of the total 76 kilometers of the Syrian-Israeli border. This means that a long stretch of Israel's Golan border with Syria has fallen under the control of the Islamic State.

2. This militia also commands sections of the Syrian-Jordanian border, as well as districts of the southern Syrian town of Deraa. Therefore, the link between Jordan and southern Syria, which served American strategic interests, is now under military threat.

3. Islamic State forces are preparing to take advantage of their new asset with a build-up near the Druze Mountains for a rapid push south towards the town of Deraa, where they will join forces with their new ally.

“Woe to him who builds a city with bloodshed,

and establishes a town with violence.” (Habukkuk 2:12)

DEC 18.  American troops in Iraq had their first actual battle with ISIS troops this week, after the Islamist militants tried to overrun a base, an encounter that left the ISIS troops decimated and in retreat.

The attack took place near the Ein al-Asad base, which includes close to 100 US military advisers.  The US troops, armed with “light and medium weapons,” were able to inflict casualties against the ISIS fighters, forcing them to retreat, Shafaq News reported.

The American troops were aided by fighter jets, which directed air strikes against the ISIS troops that silenced their heavy sources of fire.

“US forces intervened out of self-defence as ISIS started

to come near the base where they are stationed,” said Sheikh Mahmud Nimrawi, a prominent tribal leader.

The incident was the first time that American troops clashed with ISIS forces on the ground in Iraq. For several weeks, the US has led a series of air strikes against ISIS positions in Iraq and Syria, aimed at crippling the militant group’s ability to move about the country and to co-ordinate attacks.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Martin Dempsey told The Wall Street Journal that three top ISIS leaders were killed in recent weeks. One was Haji Mutazz, a deputy to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the terror group.  - NTEB News Desk

Iraqi Kurds broke the ISIS siege of the mountain in N. Iraq where Yazidi civilians and fighters have long been trapped.

The Kurdish advances came during a two-day blitz in the Sinjar region involving 8,000 Peshmerga fighters and some of the heaviest air strikes since a US-led coalition started an air campaign four months ago.

DEC 21. The Islamic State extremist group has executed 100 of its own foreign fighters who tried to flee their headquarters in the Syrian city of Raqqa, the Financial Times newspaper said.

An activist opposed to both I S and the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, who is well-known to the British business broadsheet, said he had "verified 100 executions" of foreign I S fighters trying to leave the jihadist group's army.

I S fighters in Raqqa said the group has created a military police to clamp down on foreign fighters who do not report for duty. Dozens of homes have been raided and many jihadists have been arrested.

Some jihadists have become disillusioned with the realities of fighting in Syria.

According to the British press in October, five Britons, three French, two Germans and two Belgians wanted to return home after complaining that they ended up fighting against other rebel groups rather than Assad's regime. They were being held prisoner by I S.

Between 30 and 50 Britons want to return home, but they fear they will now face jail in UK.

Tragic decisions; tragic lives!  no Saviour! no hope!

There have been a string of apparent setbacks for I S in recent weeks.

Since the US-led coalition began the campaign of air strikes against Islamic State in August, I S has lost some ground to local forces and has seen the number of its fighters killed rise significantly.

The war against Islamic State may indeed be long, but these “Chaldean-Assyrians” will come to an end in the LORD’s time.

ISAIAH 10:24-25

“Thus says the Lord YHWH of Hosts, ‘O My people who dwell in Zion, do not fear the Assyrian who strikes you with the rod and lifts up his staff against you, the way Egypt did. For in a very little while My indignation against you will be spent and My anger will be directed to their (the Assyrians’) destruction’.”

DEC 3. Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Hosseini Khamenei openly and audaciously praised Iran’s support of terrorist organizations, saying that in this regard, the Iranian regime is not “bound by religious differences.”

In a televised broadcast, Khamenei boasted about how Iran has helped Hizb’ollah in Lebanon (who are Shi’ites) as well as Hamas and Islamic Jihad (who are Sunnis). And he vowed to continue to do so in the future.

When it comes to support of these groups, Iran’s highest authority said, “We are not shackled by religious boundaries. We have never drawn a distinction between Shi’ites and Sunnis or any of the different schools of Islamic thought.”   Oh! really?

Iran’s only concern, he said, was its “main goal," which he described as “strengthening the fists of our Palestinian brothers in Gaza and other areas.”

Khamenei also said the Palestinians in the “West Bank must be armed, just like in Gaza.”

Addressing the recent nuclear negotiations with the West, which Khamenei described as a “confrontation,” he said, “America and the other colonialist European countries banded together and did everything in their power to bring Iran down to its knees on the nuclear issue. But they have not managed to bring Iran to its knees, and they never will."

Since President Hassan Rouhani came to power in Iran, the number of executions has skyrocketed. According to the Iran Human Rights Documentation Centre, 773 people were executed in Rouhani's first year in office, compared to 530 people during Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's last year in officer. Iran has the highest rate of executions in the world.

DEC 10, 2014. The Iranian regime has launched a nationwide social media campaign called, “We Love Fighting Israel,” which encourages Iranian children, teens, and Internet users to photograph themselves alongside messages of hate for the Jewish state.

The movement has sprouted recently across online social media sites such as Twitter, Instagram, and other platforms as a result of a recent call by Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, rallying the nation to take on Israel.

The campaign drew outrage from opponents of Iran’s hardline regime and calls for sites such as Instagram to shut it down for violating its own policies against hate speech.

Thousands of Iranians are reported to have already joined the electronic movement following comments by Khamenei, outlining Irans goal of destroying the Jewish state.

“Our people love fighting against the Zionists and the Islamic Republic has proved this as well,” Khamenei was quoted as saying in a recent speech by the country’s state-run media. “By Allah’s Favour and Grace, we have passed through the barrier of denominational discord.”

The one thing that unites the Islamic sects is the common all-consuming desire to annihilate Israel!                                                                                                    - The Washington Free Beacon

Iran’s inordinate hatred of Israel will shortly lead to its own destruction. The Prince of Persia who seeks to obstruct the purposes of Yahweh, the Heavenly Master, is doomed. Persia (Iran) will be destroyed along with Rosh in the coming world war.  The angelic Warrior of the LORD says:

“Now I must return to fight against the prince of Persia.” (Daniel 10:20)

The main goal of the Palestinians is not an independent state.  If it were, they could have had a state in 2000 AD when Israeli PM Ehud Barak offered Yasser Arafat a state consisting of 96% of the West Bank, plus the Gaza, with a good portion of East Jerusalem, and continued control of the Temple Mount.

Arafat refused the deal, calling for the return of millions of Palestinian refugees to the Israel territory.  His goal, which remains the goal of the PLO, was the eventual elimination of the Jewish State in the Middle East.  They have no intention of living in peace alongside Israel.

The nations, especially in Europe, have evidently come to the conclusion that there will not be any solution to the Palestinian-Israel conflict, unless they give the Palestinians almost everything they demand.

The International Criminal Court’s organizational body of 122 nations in New York unanimously recognized Palestine as an observer state for the first time, a move which Palestinians hailed as an important step in achieving their final goal of formal membership.

DEC 17. The European Parliament has overwhelmingly backed the recognition of a Palestinian state “in principle.” The motion was approved by 498 votes to 88 with 111 abstentions.

The motion was a watered down version of an earlier draft backed by socialist, greens and radical left groups that urged EU member states to recognize a Palestinian state unconditionally.

The centre-right European People's Party of European Commission chief Jean-Claude Juncker, the leading group in parliament, forced them into a compromise motion linking it to peace talks. “There is no immediate unconditional recognition (of statehood),” EPP chief Manfred Weber said. But a socialist leader insisted it was a "historic decision” and a “victory for the whole parliament."

Several European parliaments have passed motions urging their governments to recognise a Palestinian state in recent weeks in a bid to pressure Israel to relaunch the moribund peace process.

France, Britain, Spain, Ireland and Portugal have all individually passed votes to that end. Sweden has gone even further, officially recognizing “Palestine” as a state.

DEC 17.  Jordan has formally submitted to the UN Security Council a draft resolution calling for peace between Israel and the Palestinians within one year and an Israeli withdrawal from the West Bank by the end of 2017. The Palestinian-drafted resolution was formally submitted to the 15-member council.

Dec 30. The United Nations Security Council rejected a Palestinian resolution demanding Israel withdraw from disputed territories within three years. The motion fell one short of the minimum nine "yes" votes in the Security Council.

DEC 22.  PM Binyamin Netanyahu lit Chanukah candles with IDF soldiers at Latrun. He used the event to release a videoed statement pertaining to threats facing Israel.

“In this struggle that we are in, Israel is being attacked on two fronts simultaneously. It is being attacked by the terrorism of Hamas and the other terrorist organizations. It is also under a diplomatic attack led by the Palestinian Authority which is designed to deny us our very right to defend ourselves, and seeks to deny us the legitimacy of our very existence.

“We are rebuffing both of these attacks. Over the weekend we sent a clear message to Hamas – we are not prepared to countenance the firing of even one rocket, and we are responding accordingly and in strength.

“We also have a clear message to those who are leading the diplomatic assault against us. It could be that the Palestinians will, in the very near future, submit to the UN Security Council their proposal to unilaterally force on Israel the establishment of a Palestinian state as well as other conditions that are unacceptable to us.

“We expect the responsible elements in the international community to reject this proposal; in any case, we will vigorously oppose it and will, of course, not act in accordance with any diktat.”

The General Court of the European Union [EU] annulled a previous decision to keep the Islamist Hamas movement, which controls the Gaza Strip, on a list of terrorist organizations. EU officials insist the decision is strictly procedural, and that the measures such as not allowing funding for Hamas, will remain in force for either three months or as long as an appeal against the decision is being considered.

The PA president accuses Israel and Hamas of holding negotiations together, saying that Fatah has no presence whatsoever in the Strip.

Mahmoud Abbas said that Hamas is completely responsible for Gaza, and not the joint Fatah-Hamas unity government.  “The Palestinian Authority does not exist in Gaza. Hamas is responsible for the Gaza Strip,” he said.

Abbas continued, saying that he will not negotiate over land with Israel, and accused Israel of holding secret negotiations with Hamas. “I won't give up one inch of land (past the 1967 borders). I have evidence that Hamas and Israel are conducting negotiations,” he said.

“The Pot calls the Kettle black!”

Hamas rejects Mr Abbas’ claim that it has colluded with Israel,

and calls on Abbas to stop spreading lies.

DEC 2. Hamas spokesman, Abu Zuhri, said in Gaza City that the unity government’s six-month term with Fatah has ended. He added that unity talks are yet to take place regarding a future government, the Palestinian Ma’an news agency reported.

Zubri added, “Hamas isn’t interested in incitement, but rather seeks to maintain national unity.”  Oh! Really!!

Gaza’s leaders were responding to President Abbas, who accused Israel and Hamas of secretly negotiating a deal.

Hamas called on the Palestinian president to stop spreading lies, and accused Abbas’s forces of arresting its members for political reasons.

Abu Zuhri said that Hamas “does not control the Gaza Strip at all. ... If the national consensus government doesn’t want to take responsibility for Gaza, this doesn’t mean it is exempted from this responsibility.”

How strange! Neither Hamas nor Fatah claim responsibility to control Gaza.  What an opportune time this could be for ISIS to step in, as they eventually intend to do, and extend their caliphate over the small embattled territory.

DEC 8.  Egypt held its "Badr 2014" military maneuver between October 11 and November 6 - its largest exercise since 1996.

Dr. Shaul Shay, former deputy head of the Israel National Security Council, detailed the maneuver in Israel Defense, analyzing the massive military preparations.

According to Shay, Egypt wants not only to improve security domestically, but also, “it hopes to reassert its historic leadership role and become the regional hegemony.

With the rise of (President) Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, a new generation of military leadership in Egypt has taken control of the country’s armed forces."The security expert continued, "Exercise 'Badr 2014' and the creation of the RDF (Rapid Deployment Force) signals a move toward enhancing Egypt’s more offensive, conventional, asymmetric and counter-insurgency capabilities both within and beyond the country’s borders."

Speaking directly about what that means for Israel, Shay noted that the exercise is meant to prepare for “a potential conflict with Israel.”

“Israel is quietly stepping up its military co-operation with Egypt as both countries confront security threats from jihadist groups in the Sinai region and Hamas in Gaza strip. However, Egypt continues to see Israel as its primary military potential threat despite a decades-old peace treaty,” analyzed Shay.

The Egyptian army is the largest in Africa and the Middle East, with most of the country's $1.5 billion in US yearly aid being military aid.

Last February Egypt sealed a $2 billion arms deal with Russia, after Russia said Egypt offered to buy advanced defense systems, military helicopters, MiG-29 aircraft and anti-tank missiles.

Prophetic News Watch

By Hal Lindsey -

DEC 12. Prophetic scripture is clear that the coming Antichrist will not rise to power on his own. He will have the help of other figures:  Satan, of course,  the False Prophet, and “The Whore of Babylon.”

We can glean from scripture that “The Whore of Babylon” (a name bestowed by God Himself), is a false religious system. This “system” will marshal the co-operation of a major portion of the earth's population as it not only acquiesces to the rising “man of lawlessness,” but actively promotes him.

It's also quite unmistakable from scripture that that false religious system will be centred in Rome. But we have to be careful to realize that the scripture is not identifying a particular institution, but rather a corrupted global system” that presents itself falsely as true religion.

Back in 1969, in my book The Late Great Planet Earth, I wrote that, “There will be unprecedented mergers of denominations into 'religious conglomerates.... Most denominations were formed because of deep convictions about certain spiritual truths. As more of these truths are discarded as irrelevant because of unbelief in Biblical authority, there will be no reason to remain divided.”

The reality is that this “system” must be guided and managed by people -- or a person. It will not operate on its own in a complete vacuum.

The recent intensifying of efforts by Pope Francis to reunite the Roman Catholic Church and the Orthodox churches is enough to make one sit up and take notice.

That reunification would put about 1.5 billion people under the direct control of the Pope.

If the Protestants -- many of whom now identify more closely with Roman Catholic theology than with Martin Luther's Reformation -- were to join that coalition, that would mean that more than a third of the world's population would be directly and profoundly influenced by a religious leadership based in Rome.

“Then I heard another voice from heaven say, 'Come out of her, My people, so that you will not participate in her sins, and that you will not receive of her plagues’.” (Revelation 17:4)

DEC 16. Officials say at least 140 people, mostly children, were killed in a Taliban assault on an army-run school in the Pakistani city of Peshawar. Many more were injured. Pakistan's security forces struggled to regain control of the school, hours after it was stormed by militants.

Whilst some Pakistanis accuse outside elements such as Indian intelligence agencies or foreign fighters, as being responsible for the attack, in fact, students at the school have said that the gunmen had Pashtu (Pakistani) accents.

Many Pakistanis are in denial about the fact that the Pakistani Taliban is an indigenous movement and that the violence in northern Pakistan is part a civil conflict.

Reports that accuse the gunmen of being foreign fighters should be treated with caution, an official said.

Shireen Khalid Wadud told the BBC that her friend's  13-year-old daughter was at the school in Peshawar when the gunmen burst in. “She pretended to be dead,” she said. “When the gunmen left the class, she ran and managed to escape. She was the only person who could escape from the class... She is wounded in her leg, but fortunately it is not serious. She is in hospital and is still frightened.”

A 50- year-old Iranian man, Man Haron Monis, was at the heart of a shocking siege in the heart of Sydney on Dec 15. Earlier he had been given asylum in Australia, when he claimed he was a Muslim cleric.

But he was subsequently charged by the police with multiple offences, including multiple rape charges. He was also accused of being an accessory to his ex-wife’s murder, and was out on bail at the time of this siege.

Monis was sitting and waiting in a chocolate restaurant in Martin Place. Suddenly, with a gun in hand, he bailed up at least 17 staff and customers, and held them hostage.

He kept them under his gun for about 17 hours. When  the  34-year-old cafe manager finally attempted to tackle the gunman, he (the manager) was shot and lost his life.

At this point, police troops, monitoring the situation, from outside, broke into the room and shot the gunman.  Six hostages were wounded, and a female barrister, a mother of 3, was killed. The end of the agonising siege brought relief for the surviving traumatised hostages.

The whole affair was a shocking “wake up” for Australia, as well as for other Western nations.

Prime Minister Tony Abbott said security officials had intercepted a heightened level of "terrorist chatter" in the aftermath of the Sydney cafe siege.

DEC 19.  Vladimir Putin has invited North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to visit Moscow next Spring. A Kremlin spokesman said Kim had been formally invited to attend 70th anniversary celebrations of the defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II.

The trip would be the first foreign visit by Kim, 31, since he assumed leadership of the isolated and tightly controlled East Asian state in 2011. The invitation comes amid warming ties between Moscow and its former Soviet-era client state.

Russia is seeking to increase its influence in Asia and to export gas through North Korea. Pyongyang is looking for Moscow's support in facing criticism for rights abuses and its nuclear program -  Radio Free Europe

No fewer than 30 Arab citizens of Israel have joined ISIS.  There is now a move in the Knesset to remove their citizenship.

DEC 22. More than 17,000 people staged an anti-immigration rally, railing against ‘Islamization of the West’ in Dresden.

The rally, led by a fast-growing grass-roots movement calling itself PEGIDA, or Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamization of the West, was its 10th and largest rally so far. A counter-demonstration of 4,000 people tried to disrupt the PEGIDA rally.

The number of asylum-seekers in Germany has surged to some 200,000 this year, more than any other western country, due in part to an influx of Syrians.

Russia and four other ex-Soviet nations have completed the creation of their new economic alliance, intended to bolster their integration.

The Eurasian Economic Union, which includes Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan, came into existence on January 1, 2015.

In addition to free trade, its plan is to co-ordinate the members’ financial systems and regulate their industrial and agricultural policies along with labour markets and transportation networks.

President Putin said that the new union will have a combined economic output of $4.5 trillion and bring together 170 million people. “The Eurasian integration is based on mutual benefit andtaking into account mutual interests.”

DEC 23. PA President Mahmoud Abbas has threatened to cut all arrangements with Israel if the statehood resolution that was presented to the UN Security Council last week is not approved.

Abbas said the Palestinians were “determined to restore their rights, including the right of return for refugees and the release of all Palestinians from Israeli prisons.”

Abbas repeated his threat to dissolve the PA if the latest statehood bid at the Security Council fails. “If we fail, we will halt all dealings with the Israeli government and ask it to assume its responsibilities as an occupation state.

our Saviour signals us to

Hold fast until I come.”  (Revelation 2:25.  3:11)

Here’s a encouraging hymn, written 145 years ago.

By Philip P. Bliss, 1870

Ho, my comrades, see the signal, waving in the sky!

Re-inforcements now appearing, victory is nigh.

Hold the fort, for I am coming,” Jesus signals still;

Wave the answer back to Heaven,

“By Thy grace we will.”

See the mighty host advancing, Satan leading on;

Mighty ones around us falling, courage almost gone!

See the glorious banner waving!

Hear the trumpet blow!

In our Leader’s Name we triumph over every foe.

Fierce and long the battle rages, but our help is near;

Onward comes our great Commander, cheer, my comrades, cheer!

Who is on the Lord’s side? Who will serve the King?

Who will be His helpers, other lives to bring?

Who will leave the world’s side?

Who will face the foe?

Who is on the Lord’s side? Who for Him will go?

By Thy call of mercy, by Thy grace Divine.

We are on the Lord’s side, Saviour we are Thine!

Fierce may be the conflict, strong may be the foe,

But the King’s own army, none can overthrow.

Round His standard ranging; Victory is secure,

For His truth unchanging, makes the triumph sure.

Joyfullly enlisting, by Thy Grace divine,

Always on the Lord’s side, Saviour always Thine!

Praise God our war is a spiritual battle, and we take up only spiritual arms  - the whole armour of God ...

“The Belt of Truth; the Breastplate of Righteousness,

the Good News of Peace; the Shield of Faith;

the Helmet of Salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit,

which is the Word of God.”  (Ephesians 6:13-17)

 2 Corinthians 10:4-5

“For though we walk in the flesh as human beings, we do not wage war according to the flesh by using carnal and physical weapons; for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal andphysical, but mighty in God for overthrowing strongholds, for refuting arguments and casting down every proud and lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and forcapturing every thought, and bringing it into obedience to the Messiah.”
