Blow a Trumpet in Zion, and

sound an alarm on My Holy Mountain !

Let all who live in the land tremble,

for the Day of the LORD is coming;

surely it is near!”

(Joel 2:1)

The Middle East in turmoil

Egypt’s military and reformers are in a fight to the death with the Muslim Brotherhood. The Sinai has become a new battle ground.

Syria is embroiled in a civil war that has already slain 100,000 people. Iran, Hizbullah and RUSSIA are aiding the Assad regime, while Arab nations and the West support the anti-Assad forces.

Iran continues its pursuit of nuclear weapons and should have nuclear-loaded missiles ready within a year. The threats against ISRAEL from Syria, Hizbullah and Iran are increasing, and the Golan Heights are becoming a renewed launching site to attack the Jewish state.

Militants in Iraq have killed more than 4,000 people so far this year, more than 800 of them in July alone, according to the aptly named Iraq Body Count.

Israel is being surrounded by hot spots that could have

a serious impact on its land and holy city. But more than the regional Middle East threats, Israel has been cajoled into accepting dangerous demands in an effort to restart “peace” talks with the Palestinians.

While the world burns, US Secretary of State John Kerry's

Key focus seems to be on the never-ending Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Facing pressure from the Obama administration again, Israel has agreed to join the renewed peace talks.

PM Netanyahu rejected Palestinian demands to withdraw from "occupied" lands, and freeze new "settlement" building, but he surrendered to the demands to release 104 Palestinian prisoners, most of them convicted of murdering Israeli civilians in terrorist acts. He agreed to release them" in stages" and "in accordance with the circumstances of the progress" in the peace negotiations.

In spite of much evidence that shows no Israeli-Palestinian conflict has ever ended through Israeli con-cessions and prisoner releases, Kerry continues to pursue what hasn't worked and can't work, given the ideological and religious motivations of the Palestinian side. Some observers are asking, is it because the US administration has no foreign policy, and that pressuring Israel is as close as it can get to a policy success?

JULY 29/13. Under the whip of John Kerry who has made 6 trips to the region in the last few months to press the Israelis and Palestinians toembrace peace efforts, both parties conceded to the US-brokered talks which began in Washington. The parties set a nine-month timeline for the final-status negotiations.

While Mr Netanyahu agreed to release the 104 Palestinian prisoners, he did not concede to Mr Abbas's two main demands to restart the peace process.

These included a complete freeze of Jewish construction in disputed territories, and the recognition that Israel's borders before the 1967 war, (with land-swapping where necessary), would form the baseline for the negotiations. US officials, however, said the Israelis are expected to restrain any significant building in the West Bank and East Jerusalem while the talks are under way.

The Palestinians, for their part, pledged not to take any steps in the coming months to seek statehood through the UN General Assembly or other international bodies.

Times of Israel says: “According to Kerry, all of the final-status issues, all of the core issues, and all other issues are on the table for negotiation." That means that, whether the talks lead to an agreement or not, at the very least the two sides will be forced to lay out their plans and options on the table.

Once and for all, the Palestinians will have to reveal whether they are ready to recognize Israel as a Jewish state (a key Israeli demand, for which it has the backing of the US), and whether the Palestinian state will be willing to accept Jewish settlers who wish to remain in their West Bank homes.

(Mahmoud Abbas was in Cairo on July 29, where he laid out his vision for a final-status agreement with Israel. The Palestinian leader said that no Israeli settlers or soldiers could remain in a future Palestinian state. He also said that Palestinians deem illegal all Israeli settlement building in the West Bank.)

On the Israeli side, Binyamin Netanyahu will have to come out of his shell and present a map showing how he envisions the contours of a future state of Palestine. So far, Netanyahu has shied away from revealing his take on the question of borders, but now that might no longer be possible. He will likely be roasted at home, but if he wants to be taken seriously in Washington, his border proposal will have to be based, more or less, on the 1967 lines, with land swaps to allow Israel to annex the major settlement blocs.

Netanyahu will also have to talk about the division of Jerusalem, a notion he has fought throughout his political career. It is unclear whether he will budge on these issues, but he will be forced to negotiate. In other words, the integrity of Jerusalem, "Israel's eternal, undivided capital," is no longer non-negotiable.

But that's pretty much all anyone knows about the content and the structure of the negotiations. The parties agreed to not divulge anything concrete about the talks.

Mid-East diplomats and analysts remained cautious about any major breakthrough in the coming months, considering the contentious domestic political environments faced by Mr Netanyahu and Mr Abbas within their own governments and societies.

The US administration, it seems, was desperate to restart the Israel-Palestinian negotiations in order to claim some foreign policy success after its dismal record in Egypt, Syria, Iraq and Iran.

President Barack Obama gave a commitment to Binyamin Netanyahu, to take action “in the coming months” regarding the Iranian nuclear threat, in exchange for Israel's agreement to renew “peace talks” with the Palestinian Authority (PA), a security source told Arutz Sheva.

The source said, however, that Obama did not reach a specific agreement with Netanyahu, but gave only a general commitment. Netanyahu's agreement to release terrorist murderers from Israeli jails appears to derive from the same deal.

In recent months, Obama has been dragging out the process of reaching a decision on a strike in Iran that would damage its nuclear weapons program. This indecision has affected Israel, too, since even a unilateral Israeli strike will require full co-operation from the US and Saudi Arabia. - Arutz Sheva

John Kerry announced that Netanyahu and Abbas had reached an agreement that would provide a basis for final status negotiations; which includes discussing the status of Jerusalem.

There has been a great deal of outrage to this development, in Israel, and amongst friends of Israel abroad. declared: It is disgraceful that the US, Israel's best ally and friend, has never recognized Jerusalem as Israel's capital even though it recognizes the claimed capitals of numerous brutal dictatorships and enemy nations.

It is also shameful that the Europeans still call the eastern part of Jerusalem a ‘settlement’ and part of the ‘occupied territories’ when that part of the city was the location of the capital city of ancient Israeli kingdoms for over 1000 years and was home to Judaism's two Holy Temples.”

(Israel’s fatal mistake in 1967, when Israel defeated Egypt, Jordan and Syria, and captured Jerusalem, was its failure to take full control of the Temple Mount.)

But the ultimate shame for the distorted world view of Jerusalem is on successive Israeli governments, starting with Rabin and Peres, who agreed to put Jerusalem on the negotiation table as a final status issue of the Oslo Agreement, thus, giving legitimacy to the Arabs' revisionist history of lies and myths that Jerusalem was ever the capital of an Arab state.”

God strictly commanded Moses: “The land shall never ever be sold, for the land is Mine; for you are but strangers and settlers with Me.”(Leviticus 25:23)

I will gather all the nations, and bring them down to the valley of Y'hoshaphat. There I will enter into judgment against them on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they have divided My land." (Joel 3:2

Unfortunately modern Israel has compromised on obedience to God’s commands.

And now Binyamin Netanyahu seems to have given in to Obama at the worse time, when the Middle East is more unstable and dangerous than ever.

Jerusalem on the negotiating table without setting red lines first, will guarantee its division.

When Abbas demanded, as a precondition to reviving talks, that Israel release prisoners with Jewish blood on their hands and that Israel agree to start negotiations on the basis of the 1967 borders, Israel should have demanded that Jerusalem will never be physically divided again and the Temple Mount will always stay under Israel sovereignty.

Israel is now reaping sour fruits of its own confused past actions and decisions regarding their capital city Jerusalem.

Historically, Jerusalem has only been the capital of a Jewish state. And for thousands of years Jews swore not to forget her.

The European Union, for example, on July 17 issued a new directive that its bodies and member nations will no longer be a party to any economic, social or academic cooperation and agreements with Israeli institutions operating beyond the pre- 1967 borders, which includes Judea, Samaria and east Jerusalem.

Thus the EU is in effect demanding that Israel deny any rights to the Western Wall or the Jewish Quarter of the Old City and erect a border in the middle of Jerusalem, which has been the Jewish capital much longer than any city has been the capital of any European nation.

By Caroline B. Glick

In mid-July, the EU took three steps that together prove Europe's ill-intentions towards the Jewish state.

First, the EU announced it is imposing economic sanctions on Israel.

The sanctions deny EU funds to Israeli entities with an address beyond the 1949 armistice lines. They also deny EU funds to Israeli entities countrywide that carry out activities beyond the 1949 armistice lines.

The areas beyond the 1949 armistice lines delineated by the EU directive include the Gaza Strip, which Israel abandoned eight years ago; the Golan Heights, which has been under Israeli sovereignty since 1981; eastern, northern, and southern Jerusalem, which have been under Israeli sovereignty since 1967; and Judea and Samaria, over which Israel has shared governance with the PLO since 1994 in accordance with signed agreements witnessed by EU representatives.

The EU's second action was the publication of EU foreign policy commissioner Catherine Ashton's letter to her fellow commissioners informing them that by the end of the year, the EU will publish binding requirements for specially labelling Israeli goods produced by Jews beyond the 1949 armistice lines and exported to EU member states.

This act is potentially more damaging for Israel than the ban on transferring EU monies to Israeli entities with "bad" addresses. Labelling Israeli products is a means of signalling European consumers that they should view all Israeli exports as morally inferior to other goods, and wage a consumer boycott of Israeli products. Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius described the labelling as an alternative to a broader boycott of all Israeli goods.

The EU's third act was its decision to define Hizbullah's "military wing" as a terrorist organization, but leave all the other Hizbullah-related institutions untouched.

While the move has been applauded by Israeli politicians desperate to deny Europe's animosity, Europe's partial designation of Hizbullah as a terrorist entity is another act of aggression against Israel.

By pretending that Hizbullah has a legitimate "political wing" - a transparent lie that even Hizbullah has denied - the EU ensures that Hizbullah personnel and Hizbullah institutions can continue to find safe haven in Europe so long as they avoid attacking non-Jewish Europeans. Hizbullah agents can continue raising money, planning attacks, and recruiting terrorists in Europe, as long as Hizbullah labels the activities "political." In other words, all Hizbullah operations directed against Israel and Jews will remain lawful in Europe.

Israel has for years been operating under the misguided belief that the EU would eventually come around and side with Israel against its enemies. This belief has been informed by equal doses of innocence and wishful thinking.

The EU's decision to initiate an economic war against the Jewish state forces Israel to abandon its long-held illusions. Israel has options for responding forcefully to Europe's aggression. If judiciously and firmly employed, these responses can diminish the Europeans' interest in escalating this economic war, by denying them the political victory they seek. - http:/

It doesn’t take a political genius to see that John Kerry’s arrival in Amman on July 16, for his sixth bid to bring Israelis and the Palestinians to the table, ties in with the new EU anti-Israel funding guidelines published on the same day.

To avoid a head-on clash with Binyamin Netanyahu, the US president has loosed the Europeans in full cry against Jerusalem and its policies. European Union foreign affairs executive Catherine Ashton chairs the international negotiating forum with Iran. And so, the EU has given Tehran a broad wink that it is worth its while to come to a fresh round of nuclear diplomacy while Israel is kept on the run in the settlements-cum-borders dispute.

Israeli policy-makers understand that Washington is dodging a showdown with Netanyahu by using the Europeans to clobber his policies at a moment of internal weakness in Jerusalem.

By pulling the wires behind the European campaign, the Obama administration is after three goals:

1. Persuading Tehran to return to international diplomacy on its nuclear program by diminishing Israel’s leverage.

2. Confronting Israel with diplomatic isolation on an issue of prime importance to its security, i.e., the prospect of a nuclear-armed Iran, unless the Netanyahu government agrees to concessions to the Palestinians on final borders.

3. Warning Netanyahu that failure to toe the Obama line on the Syrian conflict and the Egyptian army coup will cost Israel dearly. Instead of lining up with what is seen in the region as an ineffectual Washington, Israel struck out on its own to play ball with regional forces on the move, the Arab rulers of the Gulf and the Egyptian army.

The US president has used the European Union to make sure Jerusalem understands that he too will pursue his own game - and it will be at the expense of Israel’s interests.

PA Minister of Religious Affairs, Mahmoud Al-Habbash, reassured everyone last month that the political peace process is just a ruse, and part of a larger scheme to defeat their enemy. “New peace talks will help us conquer Israel later.” - Times of Israel

The Popular Resistance, one of a number of Palestinian terror groups in the Middle East, has threatened that if there is any harm to al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem they will open the 'Gates of Hell' against the Zionist enemy.

The terrorist group said that the Islamic nations have started waking up and are ready to meet their religious commitments towards Palestine and al-Aqsa.

The former Mufti of Jerusalem, Sheikh Sabri, says even the Western Wall is not Jewish but belongs to the Muslims and any attack by the Jews on the al-Aqsa Mosque will endanger the safety and stability of the entire Middle Eastern region.

A second war is brewing in war-ravaged Syria – this one between the two opposition factions fighting to depose President Bashar al-Assad, and between the Kurdish factions in the north and the Islamist extremists as well.

A senior figure in the Free Syrian Army (FSA) told the A-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper the Al Qaeda terrorist organization is set to announce anindependent Islamic state in northern Syria.

Possibly to counter these moves, the Kurdish militants are reportedly planning to form a transitional Kurdish administration in the areas they control as well, to be followed by elections for an autonomous Syrian Kurdish government within six months.

PROPHECY: “Concerning Damascus: ‘Hamath (177 km N of Damascus), and Arpad (32km NW of Aleppo,) have been put to shame, for they have heard bad news. They have melted away with anxiety… Damascus has become feeble; she has turned to flee, and panic has seized her. Anguish and pain have taken hold of her like a woman in labour ... Her young men will fall in her streets, and all the men of war will be silenced in that day,’ declares YHWH of Hosts. ‘I shall set fire to the wall of Damascus…” (Jeremiah 29:23-27)

The oracle concerning Damascus. Look! Damascus is about to be removed from being a city, and it will become a heap of ruins. … At evening time, look! There is terror! Before morning they are no more. Such will be the portion of those who plunder us, and the lot of those who pillage us.” (Isaiah 17:1, 14)

In a quite obvious parody, Russian and US officials simultaneously announced their intent to move forward with controversial arms transfers to opposing sides in the Syrian civil war. – July / Reuters

A new analysis by an Israeli national security think tank argues that Iran not only sees Syria as strategically vital to the mission of the Islamic Revolution in the Middle East, and is determined not to let it fall into enemy hands, but is actively planning to take over the nation of Syria and effectively make it part of sovereign Iranian territory.

The report, "Iran's Plans To Take Over Syria," suggests upwards of 150,000 troops from Iran, the Hizbullah terrorist movement in Lebanon, and some Shia forces from the Gulf states, are involved in the takeover. The report was written by retired IDF Brigadier General Dr. Shimon Shapira and was recently published by the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs. - Joel C. Rosenberg /

JULY 29/13. Three months after the fall of Al Qusayr, the combined Syrian and Hizbullah armies have captured the key city of Homs, 162 km northeast of Damascus. Its fall opens the way for Syrian-Hizbullah forces to move in on Aleppo for a decisive victory.

Washington, Jerusalem and Ankara have run out of time for quibbling over whether to step into the Syrian conflict. The Obama administration must decide fast whether to let Assad and his Russian and Iranian backers win the Syrian civil war or stop them at Aleppo. - DEBKAfile

IDF is waiting for an escalation that it considers is only "a matter of time."

The storm clouds of Middle Eastern instability continue to gather around the region, creating the ideal conditions for the growth of radical jihadi forces. There are a number of security assessments in Israel pointing to the growth of global jihadi bases on Israel's borders, where sovereignty is breaking down in varying degrees.

There are two main arenas of growing concern: Syria and the Sinai Peninsula. And the IDF isn't sitting idly by as the threats build up. It has quietly been busying itself with preparing military forces along the frontiers for the next attack, which, according to the army's working assumption, is only a question of time.

Open Doors USA is also sending relief to the beleaguered believers in Syria, who are caught between a brutal regime and a rebel alliance that is even more hostile to Christians.

There is just a despair among many of the people. They have been displaced from their homes, and children from their schools,” said Jerry Dykstra, spokesman for Open Doors USA. “We did a report last week that said of the 100,000 killed, five to seven thousand of them have been children. We also know that millions of children are displaced inside and outside of the country.”

Angry over Morsi’s removal from power, members of the Muslim Brotherhood have taken their anger out specific-ally on Christians because many Christians want the Muslim Brotherhood and Morsi out of power and were speaking out, including the Coptic pope. A Coptic priest has been killed in northern Sinai, and an Egyptian businessman was killed and beheaded in northern Sinai. Churches were also burned.

Hard-line Muslims have attacked and burned churches and Christian property and Christians were driven out of their communities. One minister narrowly escaped with his life when rioters set fire to his church. Thankfully, concerned Muslim neighbours hid him from the hostile mob.

Despite the grave danger facing believers in Egypt, Jerry Dykstra of Open Doors, sees political and spiritual upsides there. He says Christians are finally getting some of their voice back inside the government. “Last week, there were three Christians appointed by the new interim cabinet among 33 that were appointed. So that’s a good step.”

On the spiritual side, repressed believers saw their faith grow as a result of the government restrictions. “Last fall, there was a tremendous seminar. Thousands and thousands of people in the desert came together and prayed and worshiped the Lord and many came to Christ. So even in the midst of despair and violence, you see the Lord working,” Dykstra said. - Sources: Release International, Morning Star News, Reuters, Open Doors

The Egyptian state prosecutor has ordered that ousted President Mohammad Morsi be held for questioning for 15 days on suspicion of working with Hamas to attack and kill Egyptian security personnel.

The accusations relate to attacks and prison riots in early 2011, during mass protests against the rule of then-President Hosni Mubarak.

Morsi is accused of having coordinated prison breaks in which prisoners and guards were killed. Dozens of members of Morsi’s Muslim Brotherhood group escaped from jail in the breaks.

Egyptian media outlets have previously reported rumours that Hamas was involved in the attacks. Hamas is a branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, having been formed in the 1980s from Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated organizations in Gaza.

Muslim Brotherhood leaders have denied receiving assistance from foreign terrorist groups in the prison break. They say their group was helped by Egyptian citizens.

The state prosecutor’s announcement came as the Egyptian capital prepares for mass rallies following Friday prayers. Protesters are expected to turn out both in support of and against Morsi. Muslim Brotherhood spokesman, Gehad el-Haddad denounced the detention order Friday, saying it signified the return of Mubarak's regime.

JULY 25/13. Braving Washington’s warning of civil strife, Egyptian Defence Minister Gen. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is not backing away from his resolve to quickly crack down, even by military force, on armed protesters using live bullets on city streets and generating chaos, Salafist terror in Sinai coupled with a Muslim Brotherhood uprising, and the Palestinian Hamas’s collaboration with MB violence.

The general’s call for mass rallies in support of the military and against the Muslim Brotherhood carries a high risk of tipping Egypt into civil war.

In the past week, tens of thousands of Muslim Brotherhood protesters continued to fill the streets of Egypt’s main cities. Some groups are closing off entire city blocks, declaring them independently-ruled entities. These enclaves have been fortified with sandbag barriers and sentries posted to check the documents of people going in and out. - DEBKAfile

JULY 31/13. EGYPT faces more bloodshed because the armed forces and the Muslim Brotherhood view the crisis as a fight to the death.

The security forces, led by the army, are on a roll. Having brutally cracked down on Muslim Brotherhood protesters last weekend - with 82 shot dead, many through the head - the army is seizing a historic chance to crush their decades-old rivals. The Muslim Brotherhood sees their entire future at stake. - The Australian

ALMIGHTY GOD SAYS: “I will incite Egyptians against Egyptians; each one will fight against his brother, and each neighbour against his neighbour, city against city and kingdom against kingdom. Then the spirit of Egypt will be demoralized; and I will confound their strategy … I will deliver the Egyptians into the hand of a cruel master, and a fierce king will rule over them,’ declares the Sovereign Master, YHWH of Hosts.” (Isaiah 19:2-4)

Mid-AUG. The showdown has begun. Hundreds have been killed and thousands injured within a few days, as the government has used force to disperse the thousands of Morsi supporters who had camped for many days in two main locations in Cairo. The situation continues to deteriorate. Very uncertain and dark times are ahead for Egypt!

AUG 1/13. Egypt’s Defence Minister and coup leader, Gen. Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, has decided to run for president – possibly before the end of the year. He is deep in preparations for launching his election campaign. (With the present situation, elections may be far off!)

The general is planning to keep campaigning short. In defiance of pressure from the US and Europe, he plans to restore the Egyptian army to political centre stage in Cairo by means to a careful democratic process.

Like the presidents before him, Gemal Abdel Nasser, Anwar Sadat and Hosni Mubarak, the Defence Minister will persecute the Muslim Brotherhood he unseated on July 3, before cutting a deal with its leaders allowing them a restricted measure of political activity.  DEBKAfile

JUNE 22. Six Muslim Brotherhood officials have escaped from Egypt to Hamas territory and set up a military command at the Gaza Beach Hotel for running their movement’s uprising against the military in close collusion with their hosts, the Palestinian Hamas, and the Al Qaeda-linked Salafist Bedouin of Sinai. The group is headed by Mahmud Izzat Ibrahim, a Supreme Guide deputy known as the MB’s ‘iron man.”

Its ousted Islamist leaders hope their revolt will quickly spread out from Sinai to Egypt proper and topple the provisional rulers in Cairo. The Egyptian army may be planning to raid the hotel and bring the MB escapees to trial in Cairo.

JULY 15/13. DEBKAfile also reports: The last ten days have seen dozens killed and hundreds wounded in battles between Egyptian security forces and a coalition of increasingly aggressive Islamist Salafists and Palestinian Hamas and Jihad Islami fighters. The Egyptian military has clamped a news blackout on the Sinai battlefield.

One of four battlefronts is located on the Sinai-Gaza border where the Salafists are fighting to impede Egyptian military operations to block smuggling tunnels. A second is in El Arish; a third along the Egyptian-Israeli border, and a fourth in Jebel Halal

JULY 18. The Islamist war on the Egyptian police and military in Sinai is far beyond isolated strikes. Salafist Bedouin, Muslim Brotherhood adherents and Palestinian Hamas and Islamic Jihad fighters are blocking northern Sinai’s key road arteries, stopping goods traffic to the Israeli border, besieging the MFO base and halting work at the El Arish cement factory. Their attacks on Egyptian targets have mounted to 30 strikes per day.

The Egyptian army is sending a steady flow of reinforcements to the area, with Israel's consent. An armoured force of 13 tanks reached northern Sinai on July 17, to bolster the Egyptian Second Army force.

Sadly, we have not yet seen the end of Ahmadinejad. He has been given another government position! The Israeli PM has referred to the incoming Iranian president, Hassan Rouhani, as a “a wolf in sheep’s clothing” who has bragged about negotiating with the West while secretly advancing nuclear enrichment.

But perhaps the man who knew Rouhani best was his eldest son who committed suicide a number of years ago, and this is what he said in his suicide note: “I hate your government, your lies, your corruption, your religion, your double acts and your hypocrisy. I am ashamed to live in such an environment where I’m forced to

lie to my friends each day, telling them that my father isn’t part of all of this. Telling them my father loves this nation, whereas I believe this to be not true. It makes me sick seeing you, my father, kiss the hand of Khamenei.”

Iran's new president has called Israel an "old wound" that "should be removed," in comments to reporters published two days ahead of his inauguration.

Hassan Rouhani's remarks about Israel show he is just as full of hatred toward Israel as was his predecessor, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and no less unbridled in expressing it.

Iran's semi-official ISNA news agency said Rouhani spoke after taking part in an annual “Al Quds Day” rally in Tehran. It quoted Rouhani as saying: "The Zionist regime has been a wound on the body of the Islamic world for years and the wound should be removed."

Rouhani won Iran's June 14 presidential election, and he replaced Ahmadinejad on August 5. He has been projected as a “moderate,” compared to his predecessor, but he is just as radical, although he may be more subtle.

Outgoing President Ahmadinejad gave a final word. He warned Israel that a regional storm was on the way to "uproot" the Jewish state. "I will inform you with God as my witness, a devastating storm is on the way that will uproot the basis of Zionism," Ahmadinejad told crowds at annual Quds Day rallies. Israel "has no place in this region," he added.

Armageddon at hand. prepare for war”

Iran is again asserting that Armageddon is at hand and that the Islamic regime’s followers, indeed all of Islam, must prepare for a monumental change in the world.

In June, officials of the Islamic regime held their 9th International conference on the Mahdism Doctrine, to prepare for the coming of the last Islamic messiah, the Shiites’ 12th Imam, The Mahdi.

Shiites, whose clerics rule Iran with an iron fist, believe that at the end of times, the Mahdi, a 9th century prophet, will reappear with Jesus Christ at his side, kill all the infidels and raise the flag of Islam in all four corners of the world, establishing worldwide Islamic governance.

Ali Larijani, the speaker of Iran’s parliament, said at the conference, “I hope (Iran’s) Islamic Revolution is that of the righteous governmentbefore the coming,” according to Fars News Agency, the regime’s media outlet run by the Revolutionary Guards.

Righteous government” is a key to Mahdi’s return, the Shiites believe. “It has been stated in the Islamic hadith that a wave of  uprisings (such as the current upheavals in the Arab world) … takes place before the main uprising and that the righteous government (takes place) before the coming, which, I hope is (Iran’s) Islamic Revolution.”

Many regime officials participated in this year’s conference, including military commanders, and several guests spoke of the importance of the Shiite ideology on Mahdi’s coming and the need for jihad for the final battle.

The Mahdaviat conference is convened annually to prepare for the coming.

A high Iranian politician said recently that he believes the Syrian revolution could be the catalyst for sparking a worldwide conflagration that will usher in an era of Muslim domination of the world.

One can smell from the crisis in Syria the coming … of the end of times and the coming of the last Islamic messiah,” said Ruhollah Hosseinian, a member of the Islamic regime’s parliament.

Based on hadiths by Muhammad and his descendants, the Syrian revolution is a start to the coming of Mahdi, Hosseinian said in a speech quoted by Fars News Agency.

Hadiths from Ali, the Shiites’ 1st Imam, also state that a sign of the coming will be the fall of the walls of Damascus.

Hosseinian told the audience that they should prepare themselves for war. “The coming of his highness is assured … the prophet has promised that people from the east, which according to the hadith means Iran, take power and prepare for the government of Imam Mahdi.” -

A Pentagon report states that China, Iran and North Korea are aggressively developing nuclear missiles capable of striking the United States and proliferation among these nations of technology is rife, the British newspaper Daily Mail reported. –

Knock knock.

Who’s there?

Armageddon who?

(I’m a getting out of here)

The Middle East is now defined by its Sunni-Shia fault line - Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States on one side and Iran and its proxies on the other. No manner of western military intervention is going to settle the conflicts generated by this theocratic rivalry. The US is left to helpcontain Shia Iran and Hezbollah on one side and push back against Sunni jihadism on the other.

JULY 2013. President Vladimir Putin watched Russia's biggest military maneuvers since Soviet times, involving 160,000 troops and about 5,000 tanks across Siberia and the far eastern region in a massive show of the nation's resurgent military might.

Dozens of Russia's Pacific Fleet ships and 130 combat aircraft also took part in the exercise, which continued for a week. Putin watched some of the drills on Sakhalin Island in the Pacific, where thousands of troops were ferried and airlifted from the mainland.  -

The first thing to know about the danger from the radio-active mass remaining on site in the three reactors that melted down at Fukushima is that nobody knows how much radioactive material there is, nobody knows how much uranium and plutonium it contains, and nobody knows how to make it safe -- so no one knows how great the continuing danger is. - Global Research / July 2013

Since the incident TEPCO has been pouring water over the damaged complex reactors to cool them for more than two years, but contaminated water has been building up at the rate of an Olympic-size swimming pool each week since then. Three months ago TEPCO stated that the space to store the irradiated water was limited and asked for government approval to shift groundwater with “low levels of radiation” from the stricken facility to the Pacific via a "bypass." - NZ Herald

Japan's new nuclear watchdog has bared its teeth calling the leakage of fallout into the sea at the Fukushima plant an "emergency" that cannot be left to beleaguered operator TEPCO alone to handle. Amid claims of a cover-up, TEPCO also finally confirmed the release of tritium-laced groundwater into the ocean beside the plant. - Aug 7/13.

JULY 4/13. Out of 900 consumers involved in a recent pilot scheme, 94% said that they were ready to use finger print based technology when pur-chasing goods and services.

The pilot, conducted by Natural Security a specialist in the area of user-authentication, involved the use of payment methods incorporating payment cards, biometrics and mid-range contactless technology. Natural security says that this solution can be used in both in-store and online settings as well as to gain access to services.

The proximity system uses a combination of a card storing the client's biometric data together with a reader that authenticates the physical presence of the customer by reading the finger print and finger veins. All without having to remember or insert a PIN.

JULY 11/13. Kids lose their school IDs but they don't often lose their eyeballs. That's one of the reasons why a growing number of schools are replacing traditional identification cards with iris scanners. By the fall, several schools -- ranging from elementary schools to colleges -- will be rolling out various iris scanning security methods.

Winthrop University in South Carolina is testing out iris scanning technology during freshman orientation this summer. Students had their eyes scanned as they received their ID cards in June.

"Iris scanning has a very high level of accuracy, and you don't have to touch anything,” said James Hammond, head of Winthrop University's Information Technology department. "It can be hands free security."

South Dakota-based Blinkspot manufactures iris scanners specifically for use on school buses. When elementary school students come aboard, they look into a scanner (it looks like a pair of binoculars).

The reader will beep if they're on the right bus and honk if they're on the wrong one.

By Todd Strandberg -

When the city of Detroit filed for bankruptcy on July 18th, it became the largest such filing in American history. The Motor City has $18.5 billion in debts, which comes to $25,000 per resident. At the heart of Detroit's problem is the benefits owed to current and future retirees  a number that will ultimately reach  into the tens of billions.

Just to show how dysfunctional the city has become, the bankruptcy proceedings was immediately gummed up by an activist liberal judge who ruled that the filing, violates the Michigan Constitution because it would have a negative impact on pension payments.

Union lawyers are also trying to void the bankruptcy filing. Since you can't squeeze blood out of a turnip, it doesn't matter if the law says all cities need to pay their pension or bond obligations -- there is no money. To put it bluntly: The parasite has finally outgrown the host.

Few people realize how far Detroit has fallen. I could list dozens of key facts about the city's decline. Here are a dozen of the most shocking:

* In 1960, Detroit had the highest per capita income in the nation.

* It was once our 4th largest city in America, it is now ranked 18th.

* The murder rate in Detroit is 11 times higher than in New York City.

* Police only solve 10% of the crimes that are committed in Detroit.

* It takes the police an average of 58 minutes to respond to calls.

* Only a third of its ambulances are in working order.

* Over 40% of the streetlights are broken.

* There are approximately 78,000 abandoned homes in the city.

* Each year 1,100 buildings are torched because of arson.

* There are 70 "Superfund" hazardous waste sites in Detroit.

* In 1950, Detroit had 296,000 manufacturing jobs. Today, there are less than 27,000.

* The police chief actually warned people to "Enter Detroit at your own risk."

The recent bankruptcy filing in Detroit is raising red flags about other major U.S. cities also dealing with billions in under-funded retiree benefits, prompting the question -- who might be next? - Fox News

It is reported that 61 cities in the USA could soon file for bankruptcy!

A record breaking stock market is distorting a frightening reality:  The US is being eaten alive by a horrific cancer that will ultimately destroy the economy and impoverish the vast majority of its citizens.

That's according to Peter Schiff, the best-selling author and CEO of Euro Pacific Capital, who delivered his harsh warning to investors in a recent interview on Fox Business.

"I think we are heading for a worse economic crisis than we had in 2007," Schiff said.  "You're going to have a collapse in the dollar ... a huge spike in interest rates ... and our whole economy, which is built on the foundation of cheap money, is going to topple when you pull the rug out from under it."

Schiff says that, despite "phony" signs of an economic recovery, the cancer destroying America stems from a lethal concoction of our $16 trillion federal debt and the Fed's never ending money printing. Currently, Bernanke and company is buying $1 trillion of treasury and mortgage bonds a year.

According to Schiff, these numbers are unsustainable. And the Fed has no credible "exit strategy." Eventually interest rates will rise... and when they do, Schiff says, stocks will tank and bonds dip to nothing. Massive new tax hikes will be imposed and programs and entitlements will be cut to the bone. - By Money Morning Staff Reports

Come now, you rich, weep and wail because of the miseries that are coming upon you. Your wealth has become rotten, and your garments are moth-eaten.Your gold and silver have corroded, and their corrosion will testify against you and will consume your flesh like fire. “You have hoarded wealth in the Last Days!

See, the wages of the labourers who reaped your fields, and which have been withheld by you cries out against you; and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of YHWH of Hosts. You have lived on the earth in luxury and self-indulgence; you have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter. You have condemned and murdered the righteous who were not resisting you.

Be patient, therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Master. See how the farmer waits expectantly for the precious 'fruit of the earth,' waiting patiently until the land receives the early and late rains.” (James 5:1-7)

There are 93 million unemployed workers in G20 nations. The truth is that the United States is not the only one dealing with a systemic unemployment crisis. This is literally happening all over the planet.

From the west coast of Africa to the deserts of Sinai, Bedouin tribes are conducting a human trafficking trade on a massive scale. According to CBN News, the trade reaps millions of dollars and deals with human misery. It could be stopped, but so far no one has dared.

"Philip," one Eritrean torture victim, explains how he lost the sensation of his hands: "It was a result of the accumulated torture but mainly because (both) of my wrists were tied up so tightly. (As I was hung) from the ceiling for three days, the blood was cut off from my hands...."

A 35-year-old Eritrean woman named Segen, who is five months pregnant, speaks of her own horrific experience. The news reporter interviewing her said that you could hear the strain in Segen's voice as she recounts what took place: "They are asking for money every minute and they hit us.... They hang us the way (Jesus) was hanged.... "

These are just two examples of this widespread modern-day slavery, kidnapping and torture trade in the Sinai desert. Shahar Shoham, director of Physicians for Human Rights, has documented more than 1,300 cases of torture. And the vile treatment of these victimized refugees is considered diabolical. Thankfully, there are survivors who have eventually made it to Israel. (To learn more about the hardships facing fellow believers in Eritrea, go to

In addition, what the Bedouin tribesmen demand from the Eritrean victims' poor families is an unattainable amount. "The ransom fees can go up to $40,000 for an individual and even $50,000," the news report states.

"And until the ransom fees (are) paid, the people will not be released." Shahar surmises that "the financial burden on the families is devastating." Many of the captured Etritrean refugees, like Segen and Philip, are Christians. Sadly, many don't survive. - Sources: CBN News, Assist News

Republican Sen. Ted Cruz says America is going down a dangerous road regarding what is considered "hate speech." The Texas lawmaker warned the next step could be charging pastors with a crime for speaking in support of traditional marriage from the pulpit.

All the seven Biblical festivals commanded to Israel, are fulfilled in or by Y’shua the Messiah!

THE FEAST OF TRUMPETS is the blessed festival that celebrates and looks forward to the Rapture – the catching up of the Bride of Christ to meet the master in the air. Oh happy day for all who are “in Christ”!

And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.” (1 Peter 5:4)

You … eagerly wait for the revealing of our Master, Y'shua the Messiah, who will also establish and keep you to the end, so that you will beblameless on the day (of the coming) of our Master, Y'shua the Anointed.” (1 Corinthians 1:7-8)

The Day of Trumpets falls on 1st of Tishrei in the 7th month (around Sept-Oct.).

THIS YEAR “Trumpets” is on SEPT 4/5.

FOR THE CHURCH, the Day of Trumpets will be fulfilled at the return of Christ — when the Lord comes with the sound of trumpets to receive His own.

For the Master Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. Then the dead in Christ - those who died with faith in the Messiah - shall rise first. Then we, the living believers who remain, will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Master in the air. And so we will be with the Master for ever.” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)

“Awaiting and looking for the blessed hope – the glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour, Y'shua the Messiah; who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all lawlessness (all wickedness), and purify for Himself a people who are uniquely His own;people zealous to do good works.” (Titus 2:13-14)

And just as it is appointed for men to die once, and after that the judgment, so the Messiah, the Anointed One, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to bear sin again, but for salvation, for deliverance, to those who are waiting for Him.” (Hebrews 9:27-28)

Listen! I tell you a mystery, a secret truth; we will not all fall asleep, (that is - die); but we will all be changed, transformed - in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised incorruptible and imperishable, and we, also, will be changed -transformed.” (1 Corinthians 15:51-52)

It is a blessing to celebrate the Festival of Trumpets in a New Testament way – as a Second Coming Festival. This I believe, is a very appropriate time to herald the soon return of our beloved Saviour.

Yes, this is indeed a day to celebrate the Master’s return. There’s an old 19th century song that expresses it like this:

Our Lord is now rejected, and by the world disowned,

By the many still neglected, and by the few enthroned,

But soon He’ll come in glory, the hour is drawing nigh,

For the crowning day is coming by and by.

Oh, the crowning day is coming, is coming by and by,

When our Lord shall come “in power,”

And “glory” from on high.

Oh, the glorious sight will gladden,

Each waiting, watchful eye,

In the crowning day that’s coming, by and by.

Let all that look for, hasten the coming joyful day,

By earnest consecration, to walk the narrow way,

By gath’ring in the lost ones, for whom our Lord did die,

For the crowning day that’s coming by and by.

Hymn by Daniel Whittle and James McGranahan, 1881.

1 For the Coronation or the arrival of a king. Y’shua is the King of the Universe.

2 To call to Repentance. (1 Peter 4:17, James 4:8)

3 To remember the Covenant-keeping God who descended on Mt Sinai. (Exodus 19)

4 To issue a warning of danger: "I appointed watchmen over you, and said,

‘Listen to the sound of the trumpet!’ ” (Jeremiah 6:17)

5 To signal the rebuilding of the temple.

6 To cause the people to stand in awe of God.

7 To warn of Judgment – the Day of the LORD.

8 To anticipate the ingathering of Israel – the latter rain harvest.

9 To announce the Resurrection - the shofar of the Rapture/Resurrection.

Blow a trumpet in Zion !”

FOR ISRAEL, Yom Truah is a warning of the coming “Day of Jacob’s Trouble.”

Ahh! for that day is great, there is none like it; and it is the time of Jacob's distress, but he will be saved out of it.” (Jeremiah 30:7)

The Biblical command for the Day of Trumpets is neither lengthy nor complicated. The Scripture simply says:

YHWH said to Moses, ‘Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, “On the first day of the seventh month, Tishrei, you shall observe a day of rest, a memorial announced by blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. You shall not do any regular laborious work, but you shall present an offering by fire to YHWH”.'"(Leviticus 23:23-25)

Traditionally it is a very solemn time, as this day begins the “10 days of awe” that are a preparation for Yom Kippur, the most solemn Day of Atonement.

The Jews teach that God opens His books of judgment during these days, in order to determine each person’s status, and to mete out judgment on Yom Kippur.

So these are meant to be days of heart-felt repentance so that God may cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. (Micah 7:19). So for Israel, the Shofar (Trumpet) is blown on this day so that everyone might know the Time of Accounting is near.

Prophetically, national repentance by Israel is a pre-requisite for the Messiah’s return. The King will not return to Israel until she is ready to receive Him.

Early in the ‘Day of the Lord,’ - the Tribulation, God will pour out His Spirit, and Israel will at long last, turn to Y’shua the Messiah, and be saved.

Note on Rosh Hashanah

The 1st of Tishrei is also celebrated as the beginning of Israel’s civil New Year - Rosh Hashanah.

The Biblical New Year, however, is on 1st day of the 1st month – Abib or Nisan. (Exodus 12:2)

The Biblical Feast on 1st Tishrei (the 7th month) is the Festival is Yom Truah - Trumpets.

FOR THE WORLD, as well as for ISRAEL, “Trumpets” is a warning of the “Hour of Trial” - the Great Tribulation that’s coming on the whole world.

He is coming to judge the earth. He judges the world in righteousness, and the peoples with equity.” (Psalm 98:9)

The Tribulation judgment is described in detail in the Book of Revelation.

And the message for the world today, is …

“God now commands all people everywhere, to repent, because He has appointed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness.” (Acts 17:30-31)

This is the warning the Scriptures give, and it is the alarm which the church should also be sounding urgently for a perishing world.

To repent means to change direction; to turn from Satan’s way, from the world’s way, and from one’s own self-centred way, and to embraceGod’s way. And God’s way is Y’shua, Jesus the Messiah who is God manifest in human form.

He, Y’shua - Jesus, is the Anointed One, the Redeemer who came to earth to seek and save the lost. It is He who came to set captives free from the penalty of their sins. And He did this by becoming a sacrifice to take away the sins of the world.

For the Son of Man (a term referring to God manifest in humanity) has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:10)

For while we were still helpless, at the right time Y’shua the Messiah died for the ungodly. Now very rarely will someone die even for a righteous man, though possibly for a good man someone might even have the courage to die. But God demonstrates His own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, the Messiah died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.” (Romans 5:6-9)

The spirit of the LORD is upon me, because He anointed Me to preach the good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives.” (Luke 4:14)

And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven (other than Y’shua, Jesus) that has been given among men, by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)

Whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:15)

"He who believes (has faith in) in the Son (Y’shua, Jesus) has eternal life; but he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him." (John 3:36)

My dear reader, if you have not yet received the salvation that is available to you in Y’shua, you may be asking: How can I be saved? The Scriptures says:

"Believe in the Master, Y'shua the Messiah (that is, give yourself over to Him), and you will be saved." (Acts 16:31)

You may be asking, “But how can my sins be forgiven.”

"Believe in the Master, Y'shua the Messiah (that is, give yourself over to Him), and you will be saved." (Acts 16:31)

You may be asking, “How can I escape from the coming Tribulation?”

"Believe in the Master, Y'shua the Messiah (that is, give yourself over to Him), and you will be saved." (Acts 16:31)

Or you may be asking, “How can I be included in the Rapture?”

"Believe in the Master, Y'shua the Messiah (that is, give yourself over to Him), and you will be saved." (Acts 16:31)

It all comes back to your relationship to Y’shua, Jesus. Is He your Saviour? If you are “in Christ” you are saved, safe and secure, and these words will be a reality in your life.

In union with Him we have redemption (deliverance and salvation) through His blood, the forgiveness of our sins, in accordance with the riches of His grace which He lavished on us. … In Him you also trusted after hearing the message of the truth, the gospel of your salvation; in Him you were also stamped with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the full redemption of those who are God's purchased possession - to the praise of His glory.” (Ephesians 1:7-8, 13-14)

The Master is waiting for you to come to Him in faith.

Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

This is the Saviour’s promise to you:

All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and whoever comes to Me I will never cast away.” (John 6:37)

So dear one, just come, believing, trusting in the Messiah to fulfil what He has promised, and for the good He desires for you. Just pray – talk to Him and ask Him to be your Saviour. Here is a small prayer which may help you to express your faith.

Almighty God, Heavenly Father, I come to You just as I am. I confess I am a sinner, needing Your forgiveness and salvation. I believe the Scriptures I have just read. I understand that Jesus is the Saviour who died on the cross to pay the price of my salvation. I believe it is because of Your great love for me, and His sacrifice, that You have provided freely this amazing way of salvation. I realise that I myself can do nothing to win your acceptance, and grace, but that Jesus did it all on my behalf.

So I come to You, Heavenly Father, expressing my simple faith in the Saviour, and asking You to save me today. I trust that You will, at this very moment, forgive my sin and receive me as Your child.

Lord Jesus, I place my life at Your feet today. I receive You as my Saviour, and I want to follow You from this day on, and to be Your faithful disciple.

Please grant me Your strength and understanding, Master, to learn and grow in Your ways.

Thank You Father for taking away my burden of sin, for saving me, and for giving me new life from this moment on. Thank You Master; thank You Father, in Y’shua, Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Dear reader, if this has been your prayer today, please sign your name here, keep this prayer as a precious reminder of this most wonderful day in your life.
